To successfully complete the hardware test, it's essential to configure camera settings within your web browser. Here's a step-by-step guide for configuring camera permissions in browser settings.
Step 1: Accessing Browser Settings
Open Google Chrome on your device.
Click on the three-dot menu icon located in the top-right corner of the browser window.
From the dropdown menu, select "Settings".
Step 2: Managing Camera Permissions
In the Settings page, scroll down and click on "Privacy and security" in the left-hand sidebar.
Under the "Privacy and Security" section, click on "Site settings".
Scroll down and click on "Camera".
Step 3: Configuring Camera Permissions
In the Camera settings, you will see a list of websites that have requested camera access.
To allow camera access for a specific website, click on the toggle switch next to it to enable camera permissions.
If you want to block camera access for a website, click on the "Blocked" option next to it.
Step 4: Testing Camera Access
Once you have configured the camera permissions, you can test if it is working correctly.
Visit the Attend link or the website/application that requires camera access.
You should see a prompt asking for permission to access the camera.
Click on "Allow" to grant camera access.
Step 5: Camera Test
Position your camera in a way that your full face is clearly visible in the preview.
Ensure adequate lighting in the room for optimal video quality.
If you have an additional external webcam along with your laptop's inbuilt camera and your camera is not automatically detected, use the 'Select Camera' drop-down to manually choose the camera to use.
