Pre-Requisites for Online Test

Modified on Wed, 19 Feb at 9:31 PM

To ensure a smooth process, make sure to check each requirement before your session:

  1. Supported Browsers

    • Use the latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox, or any of the last three versions.

  2. Internet Connection

    • Speed Test: Run a speed test (Talview Speed Test) to ensure a minimum speed of 5 Mbps for both download and upload.

    • Wired Connection: If possible, use a wired connection to avoid disruptions; avoid public networks for better security.

  3. Computer Requirements

    • Operating System: Ensure you have Windows 10 or above, or macOS 12.7.6 or above.

    • Device: Use a personal laptop or desktop for a seamless experience with the latest supported operating system version.

  4. Lighting

    • Make sure you’re in a well-lit area to ensure clear video quality.

  5. Hardware

    • Ensure your device has a working camera and microphone. You can test these at webcammictest.com & Video Diagnostics App for complete hardware check.

    • If you're unable to proceed after testing, check if camera and microphone permissions are enabled at the system level:

      On Windows:

      1. Open the Start menu > Go to Settings > Privacy & security > App permissions.

      2. Camera: Click on "Camera" > Toggle the switch for your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) to "On".

      3. Microphone: Click on "Microphone" > Toggle the switch for your browser to "On".

On macOS

  1. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera or Microphone.

  2. Toggle the permission to "On" for each app that requires access.
