Secondary Camera Set-Up and Usage Guidelines

Modified on Wed, 19 Feb at 9:31 PM

The secondary camera works alongside your laptop or desktop's built-in camera to monitor and record activities during the test. This dual-camera setup allows proctors to maintain a comprehensive view, ensuring a secure and fair test environment while upholding the test integrity.

  1. Before the Test

    1. Open your phone’s camera or a QR code scanning app.

    2. Point your phone at the QR code displayed on your primary device.

    3. Set Up Your Phone: Place your phone in a stable position where it has a clear view.

    4. Keep Your Phone Charged: Make sure your phone is plugged in to avoid running out of battery.

    5. Browser Check: Ensure Google Chrome or Firefox is updated.

  2. Camera Positioning

    1. Position the Camera: Make sure the camera shows your face, profile, and screen clearly.

    2. Use Landscape Mode: Hold the phone sideways for a wider view.

    3. Lighting: Ensure there is enough light so the camera can see you clearly.

    4. Turn Off Auto-Lock: Prevent your phone from locking during the test.

  3. During the Test

    1. Don’t Touch the Camera: Keep the camera steady and avoid moving or blocking it during the test.

    2. Keep the Camera Running: Ensure the camera stays on without interruptions.

  4. If the Connection Is Lost

    1. Notification: You will be notified on your primary device if the connection is lost.

    2. Reconnect: Simply rescan the QR code with your phone to restore the connection.

    3. Continue the Test: Once reconnected, continue your Test as usual.

Conclusion
Properly setting up your secondary camera ensures a smooth test experience. If you face any issues, reconnect and continue. Good luck!
